National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services and first occurred in 2005.
The purpose of the month is to alert the Asian and Pacific Islander community about AIDS, AIDS prevention and AIDS treatment, as well as options available for caring with loved ones with the disease.
